Run Catherine Run!
This blog is dedicated to helping Catherine Evangelista - former Cary Vice Chair of the Wake County Democratic Party in Wake County, NC - decide to run for public office so the rest of Cary or Wake County will see what a delightful person she is to work with. Catherine was removed from office by a 16-5 vote of the Executive Council of the NC Democratic Party, yet she still claims she did nothing to deserve it.

And here is the message:
Forum General You have received an infraction at Cary Politics
You have received an infraction at Cary Politics.
Reason: Insulted or otherwise compromised a CP Member's family
I won't bother repeating the other crap she posted in that private message. Suffice it to say that it wasn't true and she's not as good at researching the facts as she thinks she is - something that will come back to bite her in the ass sometime fairly soon.
This infraction is worth 10 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire. The original posting has been removed, but I wanted you to see exactly what family member Catherine was referring to:
The only other person mentioned in my posting BESIDES Catherine Evangelista was "Crazy" Gene Messick. Therefore he could be the only person who could possibly be a family member who could have been insulted or compromised.Quote:Once again Catherine you are deluded. You can't believe everything you research on the Net. Sometimes you have to get off your tushey and take a drive and look at the actual papers. I have never been busted for anything like what you claim.Quote:
And you want to talk about credibility? Do you seriously think that Gene Messick has credibility after he hounded NCDP personnel so much that his wife quit her county party chair position and then took out a Domestic Violence Protective Order out against him - which he himself has written about? That he violated four times?
And he pulled the same stunts in VA once he moved there. He's been banned from the VA Tech campus and now he carpet e-mail bombs every legislator in VA the same way he bothers NC Dems.
Your "white knight" has about as much credibility as you do.
Now I recall her posting something about having an NC grandmother, so that could be how they are related, but I couldn't be sure until now.
There you have it - right from the mooon-bat's computer - she is related to "Crazy" Gene Messick.

In case you can't read it yourself - "Deb Williams" is trashing Joanne Casey on Chris Heagarty's web page:
But exactly who is "Deb Williams"? Could she be yet another one of the moon-bat's sock puppets rearing her "ugly" head?
Why the change of heart? Didn't the moon-bat blog support twice for Gale Adcock - once in Cary Politics (when she claimed to have "discovered" Gale Adcock on 09-24-2009, 09:24 AM)
and once again in "Under the Dome"?
Now she appears to be dissing Joanne Casey through yet another sock-puppet. One wonders how many different personalities are running around up there under the too-tightly wound red hair?
I wish Chris Heagarty well and I certainly hope our he will learn to tell the difference between good Democrats and two-faced moon-bats.

A friend has an interesting e-mail that came from SJ Patel with an interesting signature on it - I hope she releases that for public consumption really soon! Had I known who SJ Patel really was, I would have heaved all over my nice new MacBook Pro! ;-)
But one of Citizen and now Candidate Evangelista's best friends seems to be Robert Eugene Messick who claims also to be fighting for the soul of the North Carolina Democratic Party. But Gene Messick doesn't live in NC - he lives in VA.
I shall refer to Gene Messick as "Crazy" Gene because of all the things that Gene Messick has attacked me on - he has never claimed anyone who has called him "crazy" is wrong about it.
So why does he bother so much with the NC Democratic Party when he lives in VA? One of his past e-mail and blog rantings describes the legal proceedings he went through a few days after the SEC meeting in June 2006 where the sheriff's came to remove him from his home, then he had to appear in court for a hearing where he wasn't allowed to question the witness against him.
At 10:30 that night, I was evicted from my home and business by 2 armed Sheriff’s deputies. I was told the Clerk of Court could authorize my re-entry to get business records. Next day, the Clerk whom I had helped elect, said that was a lie, and if I tried, I’d be jailed. He also promised I’d be appointed a lawyer to defend me, another lie. A week later, the day after Independence Day, an anonymous Judge in an empty Rockingham Co Courtroom stole all the business and personal property I owned in NC.
Now nearly 3 years ago, not one single item has ever been returned. I was never charged with anything. I was never convicted of anything. I was never told what this closed hearing was for, nor what it’s consequences could be. I was told, repeatedly, that if I attempted to save my business, I’d be thrown in jail. Now living in poverty, I cannot afford a lawyer. To this day, DA Phil Berger Jr refuses to prosecute any of the many thieves involved. Thousands now know this story, including everyone in the State Legislature, those who passed whatever law was used to “legalize” this larceny.
I can't believe that the same Gene Messick who e-mails all the NC Legislators, members of the SEC and anyone else he can find an address for can't contact the NC-ACLU and get them to represent you on what you claim is an obvious violation of your constitutional rights?
From the way he describes that hearing, it sounds like someone (perhaps his wife at the time) took out a Domestic Violence Protective Order, so it makes sense that Gene (who claimed he didn't have a lawyer) wouldn't be able to directly question his wife given the situation. A post at BlueNC described pretty much the same thing.
Information available on the Internet does tend to back up that appearance. According to 123NC.com - a "Robert Eugene Messick, Sr." was charged with violating that protective order four times over the last two years:
MESSICK,ROBERT,EUGENE,SR 07CR 051896
MESSICK,ROBERT,EUGENE,SR 07CR 052271
MESSICK,ROBERT,EUGENE,SR 08CR 050115
MESSICK,ROBERT,EUGENE,SR 08CR 052339
A 3872 is violating a Domestic Violence Protective Order.
3872 M DV PROTECTIVE ORDER VIOL (M) 50B-4.1(A)
It's starting to look like "Crazy" Gene Messick left NC because he couldn't stop stalking a woman who I can only hope is now his ex-wife? And this isn't anything that has happened decades ago - this happened in the last two years!
"Crazy" Gene is under a court order not to have anything to do with this woman, so he does the next best thing: he stalks Democrats in NC that he feels have either caused his wife to leave him or caused the Democratic Party to become "progressive" - which means to move on and abandon Crazy Gene just like he feels his wife abandoned him.
And it's not just NC Democrats that Gene is targeting:
He has not been shut up but continues to send emails to any and everyone he can get an email address for and all elected officials in NC and VA. You see Gene has also gotten in trouble in VA for the same behavior that cost him his wife, home and business. He is barred from contacting anyone at Virginia Tech where he was an instructor in stained glass. He disagreed with the Reynolds Homestead and started an email campaign much like the ones in NC. He calls himself a wordsmith but he is just a bitter, broken, and pathetic old man that hides behind a computer. He destroyed his own life and doesn’t care who or what he destroys.
So while "Crazy" Gene's ex-wife has the law to protect her, who protects individual North Carolina Democrats who have been the target of "Crazy" Gene's crazy rants? Many people who are "in the know" ignore the rants and advise others to do so, but other people may not be so lucky. Who keeps these people from being discriminated against based on these rants (losing out on job opportunities) because "Crazy" Gene and his "moon-bat" friend in Cary have a problem with the democratic process used to make decisions in the Democratic Party?
So why does the "moon-bat" pick such a person to be the "white knight" that defends her "honor"?

And the controversy is already starting...why is she running for office? Candidate Evangelista claims that Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht called her and asked her to run. This was posted at the Cary Politics website on 07-18-2009, 01:12 PM Many people have questioned this claim, especially since Mayor Weinbrecht has only endorsed one candidate - Julie Robison:
Politics has also cranked up since the period for filing for office is now open. I have been asked to endorsed or get involved in several races. While I will be glad to meet with any and all candidates I intend to only endorse Mayor Pro-Tem Robison and only if she wants me to.When questioned on Cary Politics on her claim that Mayor Weinbrecht asked her to run, Candidate Evangelista responded on Cary Politics at 07-18-2009, 03:22 PM:
He asked me several months ago and we've been talking about it ever since. We spoke on this days before his mother passed away. I already answered the "why."Several people wanted more information about this claim, including a blogger who goes by the name of "Insider" posted Cary Politics at 07-18-2009, 07:44 PM:
Why don't you call him about this...again?
Re: Cary - Distict "C"
"The Mayor asked me to run" implies that Mayor Weinbrecht endorses the candidacy and has given his permission to have his name used in campaign materials and publicity.
In the absence of such permission, it would be wrong to imply that Mayor Weinbrecht endorses this candidacy.
I personally will be looking for either the Mayor or the Candidate to produce evidence that the Mayor has granted this permission. Lacking that, if I were the Mayor (I'm not), I would be quite upset that my name was dragged into this race.
Many regulars on Cary Politics are having a hard time buying into that explanation, given what is known about Candidate Evangelista's stormy relationship with the Wake County Democratic Party and how that might effect other Democratic Party officeholders in Cary. Poster Karen expressed it this way on 07-19-2009, 11:17 AM:
On July 19th, Mayor Weinbrecht further clarified his endorsements for this election cycle:
According to Catherine at least 5 times in this thread she states the mayor ASKED HER TO RUN. Not asked IF she was running. I understand what you are saying very clearly. I would assume that Catherine would not state this if it were not truthful. She has had ample opprotunity to correct herself if indeed this were NOT the case, ie the mayor ASKING her to run.
This week was also marks the end of the filing period to run for town council seats. There is one challenger for the at-large seat held by Julie Robison, two challengers for the District C seat held by Jack Smith, and three challengers for the seat held by Jennifer Robinson. I will only endorse Julie Robison in the at-large seat. I will be glad to meet and talk with any and all candidates about issues. I will not endorse in any other race. And yet Candidate Evangelista still claims that Mayor Weinbrecht asked her to run - but when? She didn't provide any specifics, but on 07-21-2009, 08:13 PM claimed it was several months ago - implying that it was in the not too distant past:
- The mayor called to ask me several months ago, so no, he didn't ask me on Friday.
Candidate Evengelista can't pick out a specific time when Mayor Weinbrecht called her several months ago and asked her to run for office given all the drama with the Wake County Democratic Party?
I can understand why Mayor Weinbrecht doesn't want to get drawn into this matter. He might have asked Citizen Evengelista to run, but I doubt it was anytime in the last year due to the drama she was involved in starting not long after the last Cary municipal elections in late 2007.
Mayor Weinbrecht may have asked Catherine to run for office in 2009 based on the work she did on the 2007 campaigns. That makes perfect sense. For example, I was calling local elected officials in the county a few years ago, and Betty Lou Ward asked me if I ever thought about running for public office, because of the need to develop fresh talent to run to be public servants. I guess she felt that the work I had done for the Wake Dems meant that I might be interested in running for office.
Back to Citizen Evangelista. Based on her work on the 2007 campaigns, I imagine she was asked to run for office someday. That is probably how she got her gig with the ToC Economic Development Commission AND her recommendations to attend the IOPL from her work on the campaign. It makes sense to develop political talent.
But lots of things have happened since late 2007, and I sort of doubt that Mayor Weinbrecht would ask Catherine to run for any Cary office at this time. Perhaps he was asked if he thought she should run, and perhaps he told her she should make peace with the Wake Dems before running for office and expecting them to support her. I think Mayor Weinbrecht has too much good sense to have asked her to run anytime recently.
Cary Politics bloggers have asked Candidate Evangelista for an explanation of her removal from her Cary Vice Chair seat in the Wake County Democratic Party by a 16-5 vote of the North Carolina Democratic Party Executive Council - here is one from 12-18-2008, 12:46 PM
That is something left to another posting - which I am working on now.Re: IOPL Graduates
However it is well known that Catherine Evangelista is planning her campaign for Cary town council district C in 2009. When she declares her candidacy, a detailed investigation about the removal from office will be appropriate for discussion on this web site. Cary voters have an obligation to be informed about candidates for public office, and to inform other voters about them. The voters will determine for themselves if Catherine Evangelista's record of problems in WCDP predict problems she will bring to Cary town council if elected.

Many people know that she was removed from office by the NC Democratic Party, but she claims that the 16-5 decision was the result of a stacked deck.
Catherine Evangelista is still passing herself off as holding a leadership position with the Wake Dems on the following resume/networking site:
She is also claiming to be on the DNC and still on the Board or an officer of the Democratic Women.
